Upon the Market's inception, dedicated committee members outlined a few goals to guide its development and growth.

Our Goals

  • Provide a venue for local farmers and producers to sell local produce, foods, nursery stock as well as arts and crafts
  • Expand the food options for the Damascus community, especially with regard to residents’ ability to buy locally grown foods
  • Build community by offering entertainment, prepared foods, and opportunities for visitors to meet old friends and make new ones
  • Educate and provide resources to citizens on growing/raising their own foods to help make our neighborhoods more food self-sufficient
  • Support our neighbors through Food Bank donations and gleaning opportunities
  • Increase availability of local, healthy foods to low income families by offering SNAP access
  • Involve a wide spectrum of citizens in the project, including farmers, food producers, artisans, musicians, gardeners, and educational organizations (OSU Extension Service, Master Gardeners, Clackamas County Soil and Water Conservation District, etc.).
  • Build our volunteer base to make the market more viable and self-sustaining.
